Memorial Day weekend, the holiday that ushers in the summer season is almost upon us. Although I believe you can do business the day before a holiday or even the day after a holiday, many business people across the United States will be taking off Friday to give themselves a four day weekend. So starting today put that extra effort in to get all important business matters taken care of by Thursday. On Friday, you’ll still find people in their office and doing business but you will probably encounter a summer holiday mood on many people’s minds. That said, don’t assume you can’t do business because if you can make the sale or the valuable contact it will be a real business bonus. If you have a sales force, have a short meeting with them today or first thing Tuesday morning. Review the sales schedules this week – and also the week of Memorial Day as that too will be a shorter business week. Encourage everyone on your sales force to make every moment really count over the next two weeks. Keep in mind as we enter the summer season it will be the peak of the vacation season through Labor Day. Plan your sales strategies accordingly. And as a CEO, company president or business owner, make sure you take some personal time to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend and the summer months ahead.
