If You Think You Have A Business Problem, Think Again…

If you would gather a group of business people together and ask every business person if they are having a business problem to raise their hand, the majority of them would raise their hands.  They truly believe during this recession they’re having a business problem.  The few that didn’t raise their hands are the people who understand how to be successful even in an uncertain, downturned economy.

During this recession, very few business people are actually having a business problem.  What they are experiencing though, to be more specific, is a sales or marketing problem.

If you are selling enough of your product or services you can correct any business problem that you may have.  If you are not generating enough revenue that’s what the real problem is.

The business people who continue to sell their product during this recession would never say they have a business problem.  Instead of worrying and feeling beaten down these CEOs, company presidents and business owners reviewed how they sell their product and present it to their customers.  They insist that their sales force sharpen up their prospecting, sales and closing skills, review sales techniques, learn more about what the customer wants and have their sales people and the entire company become more sales and customer service oriented.

It’s not that there isn’t business out there.  The entire economy hasn’t collapsed.  It’s just that there is less business out there than there was.  If your company has what someone is looking for and you can show true value and need, the customer will buy from you.

Businesses have to work harder, be more creative, offer more to their potential customers or clients and call on established customers more often to retain business.

Successful businesses today are rethinking sales and marketing.  Are you?
