Is There A Cloris Leachman In Your Business?

Dancing With The Stars on the ABC television network commands big ratings every week.  It is the office water cooler talk the morning after the show airs.  Our friends send us emails about who danced well and who should be voted off or deserves to be in the finals.  I admit it, I watch Dancing With The Stars.  But I am absolutely boycotting Dancing With The Stars until Cloris Leachman is voted off.  It’s just too painful to watch her performance or to listen to her backstage interviews.   I happen to think there are a lot of people who share similar opinions to mine and have turned off the show – at least until Cloris is voted off.

Do you have a Cloris Leachman in your business?  Maybe that employee doesn’t dance but do they make it unpleasant for everyone to come to work every day?  For example, it is always a struggle to work with that employee because they are such high maintenance, add nothing to your business, tend to find ways to grab attention, are unproductive, only cause strife and conflict and tend to overshadow those that deserve job performance recognition.  In other words, the employee shouldn’t be there.

If you have a Cloris Leachman-type employee in your business who is not fully stepping up to the performance details of their job description and potentially is causing your business to lose customers, then just like on Dancing With The Stars, if the employee isn’t performing and they can’t be coached to a better performance, it’s time for them to find employment elsewhere.
