Business People: Now Is The Time To Become Politically Active

For a long time the economy was booming.  And maybe you’d listen to the news or read the newspaper to stay up on current events and then you went about your daily routine of taking care of your family and taking care of your business.

But everything has changed.

We certainly got the ”change” with the new administration that they promised.  Even though they never specified what that “change” would be in detail, in talking to business people across the country, they are just not liking the “change” that is taking place.

Stimulus packages that don’t stimulate.  They pay off political favors and create “work” but they don’t create long lasting jobs.

Deficits in the trillion of dollars that will saddle us, our children and our grandchildren with backbreaking debt.

Congressmen who sign 700 billion dollar stimulus packages and don’t even read what’s in the bill.

Congress and the administration wanting to raise taxes to support their social programs.

And now, the Secretary of the Treasury wants Congress’ authorization to not only be able to control financial institutions that accept money from the government but to control any financial institution even if they haven’t taken money from the government… and other industries too.  Although we don’t know what those other industries are.

The government wants the business people to work hard, make a profit and then take that profit away from you and redistribute it to someone else.

I do believe in social programs.  I don’t want anyone to be sick or hungry.  But it seems every day we are becoming a more socialist country.

It’s time for all of us to start paying close attention to what the politicians are doing.  It seems to me that they are not looking out for the people who create the jobs.

Time for all of us to become politically active.  Hold Congress accountable for what they are doing.  In the 2010 election and the 2012 election vote for representatives and a president that will look out for our well-being based on the principles upon which this country was founded.
