In Business… Everything In Moderation, Except…

I’ve heard people say over and over again:  everything in moderation.  The secret to losing weight is to eat in moderation.  Don’t go for that second helping; instead, walk away from the table before you stuff yourself.  Don’t go to all you can eat salad bars because for sure you’ll over eat.  Or… If you stay out in the sun, use sunscreen and don’t stay out there too long so you don’t damage your skin.  Or… If you drink alcohol, it’s even more important to drink in moderation and have a designated driver.  But there’s one place, for sure, that you don’t want your actions to be in moderation – and that’s…. sales prospecting.  Do all the sales prospecting you can.  Be relentless.  Don’t be satisfied.  Go for the next one. When you get that prospect, go for one more.  And then one more after that.  Yes, it is the holiday season.  But don’t let that stop you.  There are people out there that need your goods and services.  Get out there and find qualified prospects.  Never stop prospecting.  You can never have enough prospects… or customers.
