CEOs, Company Presidents, Business Owners: Don’t Put Yourself Out Of Business Because Of Negative Thoughts

I hear this many times throughout the day from CEOs, company presidents and business owners all over the country:  They’re tired.  They’re worn out.  They don’t think they can go on with their business in this recession.  But they haven’t really thought about all the consequences of quitting.

As the saying goes – When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

I remind these business people of how they’ve worked to build the business over the years and pursued their dreams.  Although this recession is a tough one to go through what would be even harder would be to quit the business and six months later to suddenly realize that if only they would have used their skills, talents and abilities to the fullest they would have gotten through the business downturn – rather than sell or go out of business.   This could change their life forever by quitting.

Don’t let this happen to you.   Don’t waste your time with such negative thoughts.   It is counter productive to your business goals.

Push any negative thoughts out of your head.  Wake up every morning like nothing negative or bad happened the day before and move forward with your business.  It’s a new day with new ideas and business challenges.  Throughout the business day, think about how you can solve business problems.

What I often say to business people is:

‘Don’t tell me what you can’t do.  Tell me what you can do.’

Work through your business problems so your business not only survives the recession but is stronger when the recession is over.
